Zombie Electronics!

Robots and Drones is our introductory electronics course for students aged 9-12.

In this course, we're going to be learning all about electronics by building gadgets that you could use in the event of a zombie outbreak! Each week we'll be learning all about Arduino, electronics, and programming to help defend your base; building tripwires, alarms, zombie detectors and even a zombie distraction robot! By completing this course, students will learn the basics of the Arduino platform, including some introductory programming, alongside electronics fundamentals such as basic circuits, sensor networks and input/output devices.

Robots and Drones is taking place on Tuesday afternoons from 4pm to 6pm.  The course begins on Tuesday the 23rd of May and concludes on Tuesday the 27th of June.  We charge $150 for this course, which covers all 6 weeks, and is inclusive of GST and processing fees.  Class sizes are capped at 16 for our primary school programs.

Electric Threads!

Electric Threads is a fresh electronics program for students aged 9-12.

In this course, students will work together on a large Minecraft building project.  This collaborative project will take place over the full six weeks of the course.  However, the purpose of Creative Mode isn't just to explore working collaboratively in Minecraft, it's also to look at how online communities are formed and how they are governed.  To explore this topic, we work with the students in the course to develop a charter to govern behavior in their Minecraft world.  The rules that the kids come up with are then build into the Minecraft world itself as a way of ensuring that everyone understands what the rules are and that everyone has been involved in the process of developing them.

Creative Mode is probably the best place to start with our courses as it's a great introduction to the Bitlink team, the Battery Shed and how our programs work.  If you haven't done a course with us before, this is an excellent place to begin.

This term, Creative Mode is taking place on Thursday afternoons from 4pm to 6pm.  The course begins on Thursday the 25th of May and concludes on Thursday the 29th of June.  We charge $150 for this course, which covers all 6 weeks, and is inclusive of GST and processing fees.  Our class sizes are capped at 16 participants.
